Jamestown L.P., owner of One Times Square, a 26-story, 363-foot-tall skyscraper located in Times Square, New York, filed a trademark application indicating its interest in non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
According to the application, filed with the USPTO on Dec. 22, the company plans to offer downloadable multimedia files with NFT-authenticated illustrations, text, audio and video related to One Times Square.
And it will also offer NFT-certified apparel, services such as entertainment and weddings, and access to non-downloadable audiovisual broadcasts on mobile devices over a universal computer network, as well as wireless networks.
Michael Kondoudis, an attorney specializing in Web3 trademark registrations, broke the news of the filing on Twitter.

Time and Web3
This is not the first time that New York’s main commercial hub, tourist destination and entertainment center has been the subject of Web3-related projects.
In June, The Sandbox, a metaverse platform, announced a collaboration with TIMEPieces, TIME’s NFT community initiative, to build “TIME Square,” a virtual space inspired by the aesthetic essence and vibrancy of New York’s historic area.
This initiative includes an open call for architects to design TIME Square and turn it into a virtual center that will host screenings of TIME Studios productions, events and educational programs.
Other companies on Web3
Last month, another watch manufacturer, Rolex, filed a trademark application to offer services related to the metaverse, cryptocurrencies and NFTs.
Earlier this month, BMW apparently filed to trademark its emblem in connection with a variety of Web3 goods and services.
The number of NFT and blockchain-related trademarks in the United States exceeded 6,000 between January 1 and September 30.
Famous artists and famous brands have also started to enter this field with trademark registration.
Prominent names such as Miley Cirus, Snoop Dogg, or giants such as Ford, Sony Music and luxury brand Hermès can be mentioned.
