Atlético de Madrid and WhaleFin team up with the STEPN app – a Web3 lifestyle app with elements of Social-Fi and Game-Fi – to launch the first Genesis NFT sneaker collection.
Atlético de Madrid NFTs will use STEPN move-to-earn technology
The revolutionary STEPN move-to-earn technology caused a stir in the NFT community when it was launched in December 2021. It is a unique web3 lifestyle application that allows you to earn cryptocurrencies while being active.
The app incorporates GameFi and SocialFi technology. Like other fitness apps, it tracks your daily activity, whether it’s walking, running or anything else.
In addition, STEPN encourages healthy living and allows you to progress in the game by leveling up your running shoes and minting new ones.
By wearing NFT shoes, users will be rewarded according to their daily runs.
Users can convert their physical activity into tokens that can be used in the game through the app or redeemed for cash.
Benefits of the Atlético de Madrid NFT Collection
The collection consists of 1,001 NFT soccer boots stratified into common, rare and uncommon:
- 850 sneakers are “common” soccer boots named after Atletico Madrid’s national and international trophies, with the date and place where the title was won.
- 140 sneakers are “Uncommon” soccer boots commemorating their stadiums.
- 11 “Rare” soccer boots numbered from 1 to 11, in allusion to the number of players who take the field every game to defend our colors.

The Genesis shoes will also offer their holders the chance to win a unique experience that includes a trip to Madrid, a hotel stay and tickets to an Atletico Madrid match at the Civitas Metropolitano.
Owners of NFT “Uncommon” footwear will receive an authentic Atlético de Madrid jersey.
Finally, by purchasing “Rare” footwear, users will have exclusive access to an official jersey autographed by the team captains.
The initial phase of its launch will include 200 sneakers, 180 of which will be available through WhaleFin. STEPN will also promote the launch with an airdrop of 20 “common” sneakers to its user base.
10% of the proceeds from the club’s sales will go to the “Fundación Atlético de Madrid”, which will fund foreign schools that use soccer as a catalyst for change.
It is essential to register in the WhaleFin application to receive the NFTs of the first print run.
