Samsung has unveiled “Space Cup,” a virtual playground in Roblox that will host a virtual soccer tournament.

To celebrate the much-anticipated soccer season, Samsung is set to offer the MENA region its first Roblox Space Cup tournament in December.
The exclusive closed-door Space Cup tournament will be led by eight gaming influencers from different countries in the MENA region.
As captains of their teams, they will each form a team of three made up of gamers who have registered to participate in the tournament. The eight teams will compete during the two-day Roblox tournament to win the coveted trophy.

As Samsung continuously strives to integrate innovation with exhilarating experiences, our newly launched Space Cup tournament in the metaverse will allow Generation Z gamers to experience Samsung products and their favorite sport, soccer. Our goal is to provide meaningful and entertaining experiences that allow our Generation Z audience to compete and engage with the regional gaming community. We are excited to deliver unique and personalized experiences that cater to the audience’s interests, hobbies and trends.” said Al Azzawe, Head of Brand Marketing & Digital – MENA Regional HQ at Samsung Electronics.
They will then need to search for “Samsung Space Tycoon” and enter the game, locate the Space Cup in the main lobby, take a screenshot with it and share on social media the resulting image with the captain they want to represent their country.

In addition to the main tournament, Samsung will begin launching four new soccer-themed mini-games for sports and Roblox enthusiasts from November 19 to December 16, 2022.

Samsung earlier this year launched Space Tycoon, a virtual playground built within the global Metaverse Roblox platform, aimed primarily at Generation Z customers to create, play and share experiences using Samsung Electronics devices.
And previously Samsung had launched its Metaverse experience called “House of SAM,” in which users could learn more about Samsung’s brand and products, and “837X,” its first virtual store in Decentraland.
