The Sandbox has teamed up with a 9-year-old boy, who calls himself ‘Zombie Zoo Keeper’, to build Zombie Zoo Land and bring his original designs to life. Japan’s ‘Zombie Zoo Keeper’ has proven that he is different from many other 9-year-olds thanks to this partnership with a major company in The Sandbox.

“Inspiration should have no age or accessibility limits. Just as Zombie Zoo Keeper became an inspiration from Japan to the rest of the world, we are making The Sandbox the platform to unleash the creativity and innovation of young people to empower their imagination and own their creations,” said Sébastien Borget, COO and co-founder of The Sandbox. “Zombie Zoo Land will be true to the spirit of its creator, providing an immersive 3D experience with a fun and colorful zombie twist that brings the original 2D NFTs and art to life.”

Zombie Zoo Land and Zombie Zoo Keeper
Zombie Zoo is a 9-year-old Japanese boy’s NFT art project, Zombie Zoo Keeper, which was started with his mother, artist Emi Kusano, as a free research project during the summer vacations of 2021.
The pixel art, totaling more than 250 pieces (until March 2022), was drawn on iPads and sold on NFT’s
marketplace, OpenSea. Discovered by famous music creators and others, all the works have sold out and have become a huge hit on social media. The works were selected for the “2021 Forbes Japan 100” and have become the face of the “NFT art scene in Japan”.
This collection has 258 items and is priced at a minimum of 0.29 ETH, with a clear minimum price. Because of this guy’s fame, he has been featured on Buzzfeed, Business Insider and more.
Now, he’s teamed up with manga and anime specialist Minto to bring the designs to life on The Sandbox, one of the biggest platforms in the metaverse. The team behind this project will reproduce his designs in 3D, bringing them to life through the virtual and colorful world.
By utilizing Minto’s virtual real estate, the project will result in a fun experience for all users.
The collaboration and creation of Zombie Zoo Land is certainly not The Sandbox‘s first work with a prominent brand or individual. However, this may be the most interesting, as the brand is working with a 9-year-old for the first time.
The Sandbox and its collaborations
The Sandbox is one of the largest metaverse gaming platforms. Together with Decentraland, they probably occupy the largest market share.
Among The Sandbox’s partners are Snoop Dogg, The Walking Dead, Adidas and The Smurfs. In addition, many large collections have created Sandbox-ready voxel avatars, such as CyberKongz with its CyberKongz VX collection.
