Yahoo will launch an exclusive week-long Electric City experience in the Decentraland metaverse. The event, hosted by VegasCityDCL will run from June 13-22 and collectors can enjoy meetups, parties and NFT wearables from Andy Gellenberg himself.
Decentraland’s Yahoo! Electric Experience?
Yahoo is set to kick off the summer with a week of entertainment for all collectors in the Metaverse. The giant web services provider has teamed up with Decentraland to create the Yahoo! Electric City experience.
This digital event wants to bring NFT enthusiasts together in the Metaverse for the experience, which begins on Monday, June 13, between 4am and 2am (UTC +3).
For one week, collectors will be able to socialize and enjoy the space’s inclusive features.
The event will feature a virtual basketball game and attendees will receive NFT wearables designed by Andy Gellenberg.
Who is Andy Gellenberg
From his base in the German countryside, Andy Gellenberg creates collages and vector-based illustrations that brim with youthful energy, he has an uncanny ability to work with as little or as much as the project requires, one minute completing minimal artwork using simple geometric shapes, the next making complex portraits and themed pieces packed with shapes, text and color.
Andy’s career received a boost when he created a series of portraits of famous Nike athletes using only the company’s swoosh symbol.
The work went viral and Andy was spotted by LeBron James and four days later was on a plane to Portland to meet the basketball star.
With a degree in Communication Design from the University of Trier, Andy draws inspiration from skateboard graphics, Hip Hop culture, Henri Matisse and Jean Michel Basquiat. Clients find him efficient and fun to work with.
Yahoo and Decentraland
Yahoo’s Electric City experience is undoubtedly a breakthrough for the web provider in the metaverse. However, this is not the first time Yahoo! has been involved in NFT-driven projects.
In March, the giant presented the Charli Cohen and RSTLSS experience called “The Initiation.” This event took place at Decentraland as part of Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW).
This time around, Yahoo seems more determined than ever to expand its horizon in the NFT scene by creating memorable events for the NFT community.
