August 21, 2024 – Forgotten Runiverse, a free-to-play pixel art MMORPG, today announced its Open Beta Test (New Foundations) and Point System.
Developed by a team with experience at top studios like Ubisoft and Blizzard, the game is based on the lore of the popular NFT collection Forgotten Runes Wizard’s Cult. As a highly respected Web3 IP, Forgotten Runes Wizard’s Cult has grown into a successful transmedia franchise, featuring a globally distributed comic series, an upcoming animated TV series, and a 110-million digital collectibles ecosystem.
The Forgotten Runiverse game is the next evolution of the franchise, with the community actively shaping gameplay through contributed lore and their use of in-game plots to shape the gameplay journey – making it a truly collaborative experience. In the Runiverse, players band together to form guilds, embark on PvE expeditions, and engage in PvP, all the while crafting a variety of items by gathering resources from all over the world.
From August 26 to September 7, Forgotten Runiverse will enter its Open Beta Test offering players a chance to experience the game’s magic and lore without the need for whitelists, sign-ups, or NFTs. The recent Forgotten Runiverse Closed Beta Test, which occurred earlier this month, resulted in the following*:

Additionally, starting August 21, players can earn Donuts, or experiential points, through quests. These quests range from passive to active activities, including social engagements, daily clickers, mini-games, and complex in-game Forgotten Runiverse milestones. These quests reward all participants and include special rewards for both current and former Forgotten Runes NFT holders.
