Axie Infinity OG’s buy majority stake in two-time Big3 champion Trilogy team.
A group of Axie Infinity OG’s bought majority shares in a basketball team in Ice Cube’s Big3 basketball league.
Axie Infinity co-founder Jeff Zirlin, Axie chat hosts Baronar and Enjoi, along with Axie OGs Artic, Cloudwhite, Flying Falcon, Coco Bear, RCTech, Aur, and Freak bought the majority of Fire-Tier’s NFTs unlocking ownership-like benefits in the defending Big3 champion team.
Axie Infinity Decentralized Autonomous Organization (Axie DAO) which also received a 1/25th share of the team.
“Partnering with the largest NFT-based game in the world demonstrates BIG3’s commitment to a meaningful Web3. Hopefully with the Axie community behind the team, Trilogy can pull off a win and go for the tri-championship,” said Flying Falcon.
In one of the coolest forms of @balajis's "crowdfund physical nodes” yet: Axie Nation now has a home sports team.
This is the first-ever digi-physical home team and makes so much sense in a world where pro leagues are decoupling from physical cities, eg @PremierLacrosse @thebig3 pic.twitter.com/gToNdVM8wG

Benefits of NFT holders
BIG3 NFTs were issued on May 8 as a move by the 3v3 basketball league to empower fans through blockchain technology.
NFT holders are entitled to vote as owners on various team-related decisions, such as certain team management decisions, player of the game/week elections and All-Star participants, among other benefits.
Other high-level amenities for NFT owners include a VIP seating section reserved for owners, meet-and-greets with players and coaches, and VIP parking and stadium entry,
“Big3 is a fast-growing league that offers very competitive and entertaining basketball,” explained Flying Falcon. “We are impressed by the league’s commitment to improving the relationship between team, fan and owner. Trilogy was an obvious choice given our confidence in the players, coached by the legendary Stephen Jackson.”
As a leader in the PlayandEarn blockchain gaming space, Axie Infinity has promoted community as its core message. The ownership group’s purchase of Trilogy as a way to bring the Axie Infinity community closer together to support its new basketball team is consistent with that message.
“We believe this is a great opportunity for the Axie community to celebrate a sports team together and welcome Trilogy as Lunacia’s “home team,”” Cloudwhite told BSC News. “We are proud to have been able to further include the Axie community by gifting one of the 25 ownership tokens to AxieDAO. We hope it will create some exciting opportunities for fan engagement.”
"Why just watch the game when you can actually be part of the game. … You're probably going to have better seats than me."

BIG3 and the NFTs
Of the 12 teams in the league, only the Ghost Ballers, Bivouac and the 3 Headed Monsters do not yet have NFT affiliation. Other notable owners on the NFT scene include DeGods, affiliates of the Killer 3s, Dogecoin of the Aliens, Veefriends of the Triplets, Moonbirds of the TriState, Wave of the Enemies, Krause House of the Ball Hogs, The Whitelist Aces of the Power, and King of Midtown of the 3’s Company.
“Personally, I’m a basketball fan and I’ve heard good things about BIG3,” Freak shared with BSC News. “I admire Ice Cube’s work and I like that they are experimenting with digital property. I expect great things to come from BIG3.”
