Blockchain platform Zilliqa announced this week that it will launch a Web 3.0-based video game console in 2023, which has the novelty of mining the ZIL token.
This console features proprietary games, a digital wallet and mining features, Zilliqa reported on its Twitter account.

“Zilliqa’s console and game center will allow people to earn money while having fun, without the complexity of managing the cryptocurrencies they are earning,” said the company’s Chief Technology Officer Valentin Cobelea.
This ZIL token mining equipment will include crypto apps and games, and will also provide players with the ability to earn rewards or buy and sell on the marketplace.

The launch will be in 2023
Valentin Cobelea reported that the Zilliqa console will be launched in the first quarter of 2023 with two games available.
He indicated that more games from various gamer content creators in the crypto area will follow.
“We have no doubt that we can become the equivalent of Steam for Web 3.0 gaming,” he noted.
This Zilliqa console will look to make inroads in the video game arena that has historically been dominated by PlayStation, Nintendo and Xbox.
Some details about this console
So far Zilliqa has not offered further details about the console; however, some photos posted on its Twitter account show the device with an HDMI port, Ethernet, USB-C and USB 3.0 slots.
Zilliqa’s team has been quiet about aspects associated with the hardware, although some media outlets have claimed that it will have the potential to address the complexity of Web 3.0 gaming.
The console will feature a game center that will serve as an online store to distribute the titles it will support.
