Legendary comedy duo puts down roots on metaverse platform, bringing counterculture experiences and their NFT project
The Sandbox, a leading decentralized gaming metaverse and subsidiary of Animoca Brands, and My Homies by Cheech & Chong partnered to bring the essence of the duo’s 50+ years of commercial and cultural success to The Sandbox‘s blockchain-based virtual platform. The famous duo’s iconic vehicles, looks, counterculture, psychedelic accessories and, most importantly, cannabis, will be voxelized and transported to a dedicated Cheech & Chong land for visitors to experience.

“I’m very involved with the art community and believed from the beginning that the metaverse would expand how people interact with the brands they love by contributing their own creations,” said Cheech Marin. “The possibilities of what can be created virtually are endless and we are very excited about the journeys we will take with our fans to our own dedicated land in The Sandbox.”
