It’s official, BAYC’s metaverse on the Otherside arrives this Saturday, April 30 at 12pm ET! The announcement came a few hours ago on their official Twitter page @OthersideMeta.
In fact, you can already join their Discord channel. But lo and behold, there’s a huge crowd of anons trying to get on Discord as we speak. To be exact, 48,574 of them are trying at the time of this writing. Many have waited several hours to pass the bot check, including the one writing this article.

BAYC’s metaverse, the Otherside, arrives this week and we’re going crazy.
For those unfamiliar, the Otherside is the brainchild of Yuga Labs, the creators of the acclaimed BAYC NFT collection. According to the team, the Otherside will be an open RPG metaverse compatible with all types of NFT. Since Yuga Labs released the teaser in March, speculation has been rampant in the NFT realm.
In the minute-and-a-half-long teaser, a Bored Ape is seen drinking some sort of serum that takes him to a whole new world. As he moves to the beat of the iconic rock song by “The Doors,” several big-name NFT projects make an appearance in the film.
Among them, none other than the famous Cool Cats, Mutant Ape Yacht Club, World of Women, CryptoPunks and Meebits NFT. As such, we can’t help but speculate what kind of associations these NFTs will have with BAYC in the Otherside.

However, on the official Discord channel, there is not much information about the Otherside drop. Also, there is still no official website. The team will not reveal more details until later this week.
As a summary of a leak last month, the creators of BAYC will put 200,000 virtual plots on the Otherside for sale. Accordingly, these plots are essential parts of the meta RPG. Each will come with its own unique attributes, such as rare characters, natural resources, artifacts, etc.
What would be the price of each plot? 1 ETH per plot. If the sale goes through, Yuga Labs will pocket $455 million in revenue, triple its 2021 net income. As for whether Otherside will turn out the same as described in the pitch deck, we’ll let the team reveal that this week.
