Blockchain gaming company, Gala Games, today announced that it will publish its titles on the Epic Games Store with the debut of Grit, a battle royale set in the Wild West.
With over 194 million users on the Epic Games Store, Gala Games will expose its Web3 games to millions of players in hopes of bringing its games to the masses.
Grit is a battle royale game built on the Unreal engine with realistic physics and unique twists. Players have to saddle up, ride and fight their way through the city, building the best poker hand with found weapons to make a killing.
Each game of Grit is different, and will test players’ skills and strategies against other players in epic showdowns and gunfights on horseback and in steam engines.
Players will take on a band of gunslingers with more than 400 variants of old-school weapons and game modes including solo, duo and squad.
“Epic is a pioneer and visionary in the video game industry. Having Gala Games titles available on the Epic Game Store brings legitimacy to this new genre of games,” said John Osvald, President of Games at Gala Games. “Easy access to Web3 games is a tipping point for gamers who have yet to see how digital ownership can enrich the gaming experience.”

To celebrate Galaverse, starting today through June 9 in Malta, Gala Games will offer a special sale of “The Gunslinger Box,” which will unlock one of GRIT’s 10,000 avatars. Each character, which the owner will be able to use as an avatar in the game, has its own specific perks and generative traits that will give each character a unique look and feel.
Owners will be able to bring their preferred loadout of specific weapon skins into the game, giving them an advantage over their counterparts. The sale begins today for Galaverse attendees and opens gradually throughout the week.
Node owners will have access on June 7 and Gala Gold on June 8, while the public sale of the “Gunslinger’s Box” will take place on June 9. Each group will have access to the sale for 12 hours.

Epic Games, creator of the new Unreal Engine 5 technology, will allow its users to earn rewards from the sale of titles or games made with this system, informed the company’s CEO, Tim Sweeney.
Players will be able to develop their own content, as is the case with the Roblox ecosystem or the Minecraft sandbox.
“The full capabilities of our engine will be in its original, open source version for everyone,” Sweeney said.
However, no further details for this mode or its release date have been revealed.
Fans can already look forward to the free game, which will be released later this year.
