Parallel Studios are excited to launch the closed beta for the free-to-play blockchain-integrated Parallel TCG, a new and groundbreaking trading card game set in our solar system thousands of years in the future.
Brought to you by artists and developers from the likes of Blizzard, Ubisoft, Epic Games, Xbox Game Studios, and Riot Games, Parallel has all the makings of the next big thing in card gaming.
Early-access fans are about to jump into a brand new, innovative trading card experience, featuring never-before-seen mechanics, a fantastically-deep universe to explore, and huge plans for future expansion.
Parallel TCG’s blockchain element is a completely optional aspect of the game that users can participate in if they so desire. Non-NFT versions of cards called Apparitions will be available that are unlocked progressively by players for free and can also be purchased in packs; however, they cannot be traded by players. If users choose to purchase NFTs, they will have more control over their assets, unique cosmetic elements, and the ability to earn $PRIME tokens.

Open beta registration is scheduled for mid-September, with a few waves of referrals between now and then.
THE LORE
On Earth, a once bountiful planet, now slowly condemned to resource scarcity, humankind has continued to grow increasingly desperate to find an unlimited source of energy to rely upon. To do this, brilliant minds from all around the globe came together in a mutual understanding and assembled for the sake of Earth’s salvation.
Unfortunately, as resources continued to deplete, the masterminds began experimenting with fission-augmented anti-matter, and in their haste, they unleashed a catastrophe on an unprecedented scale.
In fleeing certain death, the mass exodus of Earth began, ultimately leading to the inception of the five Parallel civilisations that rose from the remnants of society.

After 10,000 years, the Earth has healed, and a new energy source has beckoned the Parallels back as they now battle for control of their ancestral home. This energy-rich invitation brings new conflict, as each Parallel believes Earth is theirs to claim.
THE GAME
Parallel TCG is a turn-based card game set in the solar system thousands of years into the future. Players will be able to earn cards and build their decks to engage in 1v1 battles against other players, or hone their skills and experiment play styles against enemy AI opponents. The game is entering closed beta now, and has several game modes:
● Rookie Mode – Familiarise yourself with the different factions and earn new cards fighting exclusively against other players.
● Ranked – Claim victory, climb the ladder and earn ranks, renown, and daily quest rewards.
● Practice – Battle against an AI opponent and test out your decks before competing against other players.
● Tournaments – Organise and compete in tournaments to earn big rewards (upcoming feature)
● Skirmish – Team up with friends and construct unique card decks, and then pair up against the opposing team in intense 1v1 battles (upcoming feature)

Parallel TCG truly is set apart from competing popular TCGs on the market, and this is achieved by the following:
Paragon System
When building a custom deck, players will first have to decide between the 5 unique Parallel factions, and then choose between 3 distinct Paragon leaders. Each faction offers exciting gameplay patterns and mechanics which truly set them apart from one another. Paragons each have a powerful passive mechanic that can alter the way the game plays out, or in one case, how the deck is initially constructed.
These powers range from creating powerful units every few turns, combining all previously deceased units into an abomination of a creature, and even reaching into the void and pulling units out of a singularity. In addition to these passive tactics, most Paragons can also be deployed onto the battlefield, triggering powerful abilities that will surely turn the tide of battle in your favour.
Banking Card System
Players won’t have to worry about ‘mana depletion’, or getting ‘flooded’ in Parallel TCG. Instead, players can set the tempo by choosing cards in their hand to ‘bank’, providing them with the energy needed to play cards onto the battlefield.
This system adds a fresh layer of strategy, as players have full reign and choice over which cards to bank and which cards to keep in battle rotation. There are even ways to pull cards previously banked and play them, giving players that additional sense of control and agency over their approach to the game.
