Exploring Utopia: The Pink Church of Feminism
As part of their shared vision for an inclusive and welcoming web3 metaverse, IMVU will unveil an official community space called Utopia, envisioned by Nadya Tolokonnikova.
This unique space, known as the Pink Church of Feminism, will be a place where users can engage with other like-minded community members and immerse themselves in a world of punk feminist aesthetics.
Inside the Pink Church of Feminism, users will find a main stage complete with band setups, providing a platform for anyone to roleplay their own punk performances.
There will also be a dance floor under interactive clouds, and a meditation circle, offering a variety of activities for users to participate in.
Nadya Tolokonnikova, the visionary behind Utopia, expressed her excitement about the launch, stating, “It’s very thrilling to launch Utopia in IMVU and make it feminist, queer, diverse, and radical. It has always been a dream of mine to create a Pink Church of Feminism. Eventually, I’ll find a way to build it in real life. But the first step is to launch this vision in the metaverse.”
Creating a Welcoming Space for All
The Pink Church of Feminism is designed to be an inclusive space that welcomes everyone, including women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ creatives. To encourage participation, the first 5,000 eligible users who complete a free quest within IMVU will unlock a free Utopia Community NFT, specially designed by Nadya Tolokonnikova.
This NFT will not only serve as a badge of membership, allowing Utopia members to identify one another in other IMVU rooms, but it will also symbolize solidarity with Nadya and the diverse IMVU community.

Empowering the Community Through NFTs
In addition to the launch of Utopia, Nadya Tolokonnikova will also be collaborating with IMVU on a series of Limited Edition NFT releases. These NFTs will feature wearable avatar items inspired by Nadya’s art and fashions, and will be powered by MetaJuice, IMVU’s blockchain technology partner.
Nadya expressed her enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “I designed digital wearables that we’ll drop soon in IMVU, and a part of the proceeds will fund North Caucasus SOS, an organization helping gay people to safely leave Chechnya, the region of Russia where gay people are gravely in danger.”
The first drop of the NFT collection will be showcased at an invite-only event during NFT.NYC 2023, with event attendees eligible to receive a free exclusive NFT to commemorate the occasion. Following the event, Nadya and IMVU will invite the world to join Utopia on April 14th, where users can sign in to IMVU and create their avatars and explore the Pink Church of Feminism in Utopia.
The NFT collection will be available for purchase, allowing users to own unique and exclusive digital wearables designed by Nadya Tolokonnikova.
