Many users are expressing their discontent with Elon Musk’s arrival and first actions on Twitter, with Mastodon, the social networking platform that is capitalizing on much of the discontent, to the point that some servers have had to block new user registrations.
But in addition to Mastodon, and other options such as Gettr, Gab, Parler, the forgotten and still active Plurk, among others that could also emerge, the arrival of a new competitor is on the horizon with the idea of returning the initial freshness that came to exist at the beginning of the massive arrival of social networks.
It is Post, and behind this project is Noam Bardin, who until last year was in charge of the collaborative platform Waze, with twelve years of management behind him, which will now be reflected in his new platform.

Similar to Twitter, but with no character limit
For the moment, Post has a home page that looks like this:
Post will be a civilized place to discuss ideas, learn from experts, journalists, individual creators and each other, converse freely and have fun. Many of today’s advertising platforms are based on grabbing attention at all costs, sowing chaos in our society, amplifying the extremes and silencing the moderates. Post aims to give a voice back to the marginalized majority; there are enough platforms for the extremists and we cannot cede the public square to them.
And as for what it allows us to do, it tells us to do it:
- Write posts with no character limits and share them.
- Comment, share, “like” and repost content with your opinion.
- Buy individual articles from different premium news providers, so you have access to multiple perspectives, not just the ones you subscribe to.
- Read content from multiple sources in one clean interface without having to jump to different websites.
- Have meaningful conversations with friends, strangers, experts and leaders.
- Mentor engaging content creators to help them create more, through integrated micropayments.
If you look closely, the whole presentation is basically a Post integrated into the home page, with buttons for various actions that are not functional at the moment, with many of the basic functions still under development.
As for moderation, it will take the example of Waze to allow users to collaborate in strict compliance with the rules to all those who violate them, and to be part of it will have to fill out a form to be part of the waiting list to be invited; there are about 120,000 users waiting to receive their corresponding invitation, although the truth is that hours ago the waiting list was larger.
If it has a critical mass of users, it will increase competition among social networks and shake up the sector once again, as happened a few years ago with the emergence of TikTok, which took many by surprise, being one of the platforms preferred by young people.
