Sky City is phase 1 of the AlterVerse. It is the main social hub with stores and real estate. It also includes quests, mini-games, PvP races and other activities. Players can already purchase various NFT items and skins from the official store.
Sky City Alpha
In the alpha phase, players could own land, build their own houses, fly airplanes, explore the city and its surroundings, and participate in PvP and other mini-games. Playtest reports were positive overall, with players noting that the experience was smooth and enjoyable. Players in the alpha phase have posted several screenshots, and the graphics look great.
The team received good feedback from participants and has already prepared a list of new bug fixes for the next alpha round, scheduled for December 12, 2022.
This first alpha preview was only open to Citizen and Founder NFT owners. But future alpha and beta testing will be open to a wider audience. If you are interested, you can apply for early access here. You can also purchase a lifetime subscription for Citizen from the AlterVerse store. The cost is $100 and provides a unique citizen number, access to higher level titles, increased earning potential, voting rights, invitations to special events and free lifetime access to AlterVerse. However, there are only 2,000 seats available, of which about 1,000 are still available.
What is AlterVerse?
AlterVerse is a new metaverse in development. With a decentralized, 3D, multiplayer, interconnected and VR-enabled platform, AlterVerse aims to carve out a niche in an increasingly crowded field.
AlterVerse’s servers are player-owned, with several customizable, pre-built environments and games. Newly released game servers are automatically added to the list of servers that players can access.
At the center is Sky City, a social hub with customizable spaces and showcases for partnerships. One such partner is Double Protocol and the NFT rental system.
Double Protocol will not only have an in-game office, but will also power the in-game rental marketplace, allowing players to rent land and other objects.
Sky City is considered phase 1 of the AlterVerse. Phase 2 includes Outpost, a sci-fi shooter with quests, mining and crafting. Phase 3 brings us Rekt, a hardcore survival game set on a hostile planet.
Sky City is currently in alpha testing. We expect to see Sky City beta and alpha testing of Outpost and Rekt in the first half of next year.
