Taco Bell is offering U.S. couples the chance to get married in the Decentraland metaverse. The contest for engaged couples will run from August 25 through September 6.

Taco Bell and Decentraland Get Married
Through Sept. 6, couples will have a chance to win Taco Bell’s metaverse wedding package. To do so, the brand has created a virtual replica of its Las Vegas wedding chapel and cantina in Decentraland.
The metaverse wedding will be completely customized to the lucky couple’s needs.

The metaverse wedding will feature all the traditional elements of a wedding: music, first dance, food, toast, exchange of vows and rings, etc.
The couple’s guests will have exclusive access to the evening, and it will also be open to Decentraland guests.
Couples will have the freedom to manage the experience, which includes everything from their attire to the style of the venue.
Couples and guests will receive unique NFT items to celebrate the beautiful moments. Couples will also be presented with a newly minted NFT wedding certificate.
“We’re always looking for new ways to meet our fans where they are and offer them iconic Taco Bell experiences…even if it’s in the metaverse,” said Sean Tresvant, brand director for Taco Bell. “In the age of the pursuit of love, Taco Bell’s metaverse wedding will allow a couple to participate in the journey of what could very well be the next evolution of modern love, and we’re proud to lead the charge.”
The event will be live streamed so that everyone who doesn’t have access to Decentraland can be part of the festivities and enjoy them to the fullest. There will also be many surprise guests; however, there are no details at this time.
How to enter the Taco Bell Metaverse Wedding Contest
To enter Taco Bell’s metaverse wedding contest, wedding couples must submit an entry form.
In addition, they must submit a video about their love story, why they want to get married in the metaverse and their passion for Taco Bell.
Applications can be submitted on the Taco Bell metaverse wedding website.
They can also share their video on social media using the hashtag #TacoBellMetaverseWeddingContest, tagging @tacobell, and then add the social media video links to the website.
Once selected, the brand will work closely with the couple to create their dream wedding.
Weddings in the metaverse
A few months back, a couple from the Indian state of Tamil Nadu held a wedding reception in the metaverse.
The Hogwarts-themed reception took place in collaboration with the TardiVerse metaverse on the Polygon blockchain.
Also, an American couple exchanged NFT rings in a traditional Jewish ceremony last year.
