Stranger Things NFTs?

Fans of Stranger Things should have already seen the trailer for season four. In this trailer, if you slow down the playback speed and pause at exactly 1:59 minutes, you will see a scene with 4 different timestamps (0:33, 0:52, 1:46, 2:30). Twitter user Tim, or @TimCZE_ believes he has solved the puzzle by putting together several alphabets from the above 4 scenes. When put together, the alphabets spell out “I AM HELLS MASTER.”

If you Google this phrase, you will find a website with a countdown timer and an inverted “ENTER” button. At the time you type this, there are about 18 hours left on the clock. If you click the “enter” button, you will see a pop-up window with a congratulatory note in which you can enter your email address. The note says, “Congratulations on discovering the clues and joining the Stranger Things 4 interactive curiosity journey, brought to you by Candy Digital and Netflix.”

Once you register your email, you should receive a message that starts with a quote from Sherlock Holmes. It goes on to say that this is just the beginning, and that very soon we will be able to dive into solving puzzles and get various rewards along the way. Finally, he reminds us to keep an eye on their social networks and also on the aforementioned website.

Although the partnership with Candy Digital indicates a possible NFT drop, none of us can say for sure what it is. Since there is no official indication from either company, we have to take precautions for now. On the other hand, Volume 1 of Season 4 will be released on May 27, while Volume 2 will be released on July 1, 2022.

Candy Digital

Candy Digital is essentially an NFT marketplace that focuses primarily on sports collectibles. Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin, along with Galaxy Digital’s Mike Novogratz, and Gary Vaynerchuk launched the platform in May 2021. Some of the notable collections include baseball NFTs, as they have exclusive partnerships with MLB and MLBPA.

Like most NFT marketplaces, this ecosystem allows fans and collectors to seamlessly buy, trade and share officially licensed NFTs. Recently, the platform launched the Jackie Robinson series to commemorate the momentous 75th anniversary.

He will always hold a place in the hearts of many for breaking the color barrier in MLB. As such, 100% of the net proceeds will go to the Jackie Robinson Foundation. The series includes a 1:1 gold bust, limited edition silver busts and a series of signed baseballs.

Some people, myself included, can’t understand the relationship between Netflix’s Stranger Things and baseball-centric Candy Digital. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow when the countdown ends.
