Magic Johnson, the legendary basketball player, is launching a collection of NFTs. Earvin “Magic” Johnson will launch this project on June 7 through NBA Top Shot. A total of 1600 packs of NFTs will be offered, containing some of Magic’s memorable moments as a basketball player.

Magic Johnson’s NFT highlights his magnificent career
The basketball superstar is considered one of the NBA’s all-time greats and is a member of the Hall of Fame. Magic won five championships in a long and illustrious career spanning three decades.
In fact, Magic played for the Los Angeles Lakers for his entire career, from 1979 to 1996. He won numerous individual and team awards and broke numerous records. In addition, he was a 12-time NBA All-Star, holding three records for Finals MVP and League MVP.
The NFT collection captures some of these iconic moments in NBA history and immortalizes them on the blockchain.

Now, Magic Johnson brings his winning mentality and outsized personality to the NFT space. “The Anthology: Magic Johnson” NFT collection will give fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with the star and also own a piece of ‘Magic’ history.
In a tweet to his 5.2 million followers, he said, “I’m so excited to partner with @nbatopshot to launch my first NFTs and bring some of my favorite moments from my career to fans around the world.”

The release begins June 7 and costs $1600 each. Notably, 1,200 of Magic Johnson’s 1,600 NFT packages will be given out in an airdrop to people with a Top Shot score of at least 150,000. However, the remaining 400 are available to everyone, regardless of their Top Shot score or status.
Each NFT package will contain one of four Magic Johnson moments. These are from the seasons in which his team, the Los Angeles Lakers, won the NBA championship title. In addition, there will be one Magic Johnson NFT Moment in Rare or Legendary rarity level in each pack.
NBA Top Shot
Created by Dapper Labs and in collaboration with the NBA, Top Shot is a digital platform for collectible NFTs. It specializes in iconic moments in NBA history, and users obtain these NFTs through “packs.” The platform runs on the Flow blockchain and went live in July 2019.
Since then, it has become one of the largest NFT platforms. Recently, despite a downward trend in the overall NFT market, NBA Top Shot has set new records.
