Kraft Foods, a leading North American beverage and packaged food company, has filed a trademark application for “The Wienermobile” to join the metaverse and the realm of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

The Wienermobile

The Wienermobile, a fleet of motor vehicles styled like a hot dog on a bun and used in the U.S. to promote and market Oscar Mayer products, debuted in 1936 and quickly became a national icon; now, after 86 years, it’s time to put it back on the road, but this time it will be a digital road.

The drivers of the Wienermobile are called Hotdoggers.

According to the application, filed with the USPTO on Oct. 12, the company intends to offer.

The aim of the filings is to offer:

  • NFT market
  • Non-fungible tokens and digital tokens.
  • Virtual restaurants, food and beverage
  • Online stores for virtual goods and NFTs.

Based on the filing, it appears that Kraft is focused on a Weinermobile-inspired virtual restaurant where it will create the ecosystem. Going into a bit more detail, the brand includes.

  • Virtual beverage and food products, such as downloadable media files, such as music, art, audio and video related to beverages, food and restaurants, and validated by NFT.
  • Online retail solutions such as virtual products and non-fungible tokens through an online marketplace.
  • Entertainment services through a virtual restaurant that allows customers to earn reward points in addition to virtual currencies. These rewards can be redeemed in the virtual and real world or used for entertainment offered by Weinermobile.
  • A virtual restaurant that has both real and virtual products and even offers home delivery service in both the virtual and real world.

In the same month, Kraft Foods had filed trademark applications to offer NFT and metaverse based offerings and solutions.

This filing comes after Kraft Foods filed trademark applications in June for “Kraft,” “Jell-O,” “Kool-Aid,” “Velveeta,” “Lunchables,” “Oscar Mayer” and “Philadelphia” for metaverse and NFT purposes.
