Pepe: Let’s jump right in. You’ve been a vocal supporter of Dogecoin (DOGE) for years. Now, Tesla accepts DOGE for merch, and rumors swirl about X integrating it. What’s the future for Doge?
Elon Musk: Look, I believe in the potential of Doge. It’s fun, has a passionate community, and its transaction fees are minuscule. Tesla accepting Doge for merch is a small step, but it shows we’re exploring its utility.
Pepe: Speaking of exploring, X is acquiring payment licenses. Does this hint at Doge integration on the platform?
Elon Musk: (chuckles) Interesting connection. Let’s say, the licenses are definitely for peer-to-peer (P2P) payments, similar to Venmo. And, funny you mention it, the dream of offering Doge as payment on a social platform goes way back for me.
Pepe: Wow, that pre-dates X, huh?
Elon Musk: Exactly. My retweet of the “Everything App” post with the old X.com logo? That wasn’t random. X.com was all about payments before becoming PayPal. Now, with X, the circle might come full circle.
Pepe: Doge as the future currency of the “Everything App”? That’d be massive for Doge!
Elon Musk: There are hurdles, of course. Regulations can be slow, but we’re determined to bring payments to X. It’s a long game, but the vision is clear.
Pepe: So, Doge payments on X might take time, but the intention is there?
Elon Musk: Absolutely. We’re building something revolutionary, and Doge could play a part. But remember, this interview isn’t financial advice! (laughs)
