eBay is partnering with interactive and virtual events platform Notable Live to enhance NFTs and offer sports fans experiences that bring them closer to their favorite players, leagues, and teams.

eBay and Notable Live

By partnering with eBay, Notable Live will bring NFTs and exclusive player items to the e-commerce NFT marketplace.

Through the Notable Live platform, fans will be able to meet and interact with their favorite players, teams, and leagues at both virtual and in-person events.

In addition to entering into a multi-year commercial agreement, eBay was the lead investor in Notable Live’s recently completed Series A funding round.

Notable Live

Notable Live is a platform that blends live video interaction with event-like elements to offer fans a more authentic, up-close connection with their favorite icons.

According to a company statement, Notable Live’s Series A investment was previously led by eBay Ventures, eBay’s venture capital division.

As part of a multi-year agreement between the two companies, Notable Live will supply eBay with limited edition NFT and player equipment.

The online marketplace’s recent collaboration with Notable Live represents a significant development in the field of digital collectibles.

According to a statement from Mike Antonucci, co-founder and CEO of Notable Live, their collaborations “focus” on delivering disruptive solutions that provide fans with real access. These solutions are based on genuine offerings that link memories with artifacts and first-hand accounts from the sources themselves, he continued.

NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith and Antonucci came up with the idea for the software company. Notable Live was first introduced in 2018 as a smartphone app that gave fans access to notable interactions with players.

It is still unknown on which blockchain Notable Live’s NFTs will be launched.

eBay and Web3

Last June, eBay acquired KnownOrigin, one of the most innovative NFT marketplaces, as part of its technology-driven reimagination strategy, enabling collectors and artists to sell, buy and trade NFTs on its e-commerce site.

Last May, eBay also collaborated with OneOf to launch its first NFT series featuring Canadian field hockey legend Wayne Gretzky.

The company’s commitment to Web3 appears to be a strategy to reinvent its e-business and gain a competitive edge against its main competitors, such as Amazon, which has lately started to commit as well, as some journalists claimed that it would soon debut its NFT initiative.
