September 11, 2023, Singapore – Following the success of last year’s activations, Cordell Broadus – son of Snoop Dogg and prominent web3 entrepreneur – returns to Singapore and partners with Gushcloud – a homegrown global creations company – to launch the inaugural WORLD CHAMP coinciding with Asia’s largest cryptocurrency conference TOKEN2049 and the 2022 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix.
The WORLD CHAMP event will consist of a series of evening panels, fireside chats, a life-size art installation of a bored monkey, and a taco restaurant takeover at Chijmes. Following the afternoon event, the cathedral will be transformed into an exclusive lounge to celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop, honoring the godfather of Hip Hop, Russell Simmons, who will be in attendance. The all-day event will be held on September 15, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m., bringing together the Web3 founders and investment community, music and technology.
“I am excited to be back in Singapore during the F1 season and to host the inaugural WORLD CHAMP together with my partner, Gushcloud. Especially during the current ‘bear market’, my team and I see the importance of bringing together and highlighting the community and founders who continue to build their projects, develop their IP, and invest in the ecosystem,” said Cordell Broadus.
Here are some of the activities that will take place at Chijmes Hall on September 15, 2023,
Global Champion Partner Day – A 5-hour public event from 14:00 to 19:00 where Cordell Broadus will bring together founders and partners from leading web3 companies such as Sandbox, Gorilla Gazing, Claynation and Tezos for panels and fireside chats to discuss the future of web3 and share their game plans.
Hip Hop 50 Celebration – Another invitation-only event, Cordell Broadus will host and pay tribute to the godfather of Hip Hop, Russell Simmons, along with top local rappers including Sheikh Haikel, Shigga Shay and Dharni.
Bored Taco Takeover РBored Taco, a taco activation, will take place in partnership with Se̱or Taco restaurant starting at 3 p.m., where the first 100 tacos will be distributed free of charge to event participants.
Champ Medici: Recharge – The public will be able to visit and take a selfie with the life-size inflatable installation Champ Medici in the center of the Sala Chijmes. This 12-meter artwork aims to show the world that Champ Medici and its communities are in a constant process of recharging. This piece makes its second appearance in Singapore.

I see this year’s activation as my tribute to the culture and for me as a tribute to Russell Simmons, who sowed the seeds of our community’s success and laid the foundation for the next generation of entrepreneurs like myself to thrive.”
