Great news for Chris Brown fans! The singer will be releasing his debut NFT collection. The NFT streetwear project is made in collaboration with John Dean, founder of LA-based clothing brand Renowned.

Chris Brown has long been a fan of streetwear. He’s also an advocate of Web3, once showing off an NFT he purchased on Instagram. This month he will release his first NFT collection called “The Auracles.” It’s based on a black superhero called “The Auracle,” who can time travel and has shape-shifting abilities.

According to Dean, Web3 has the potential to correct “a lot of problems” that still occur in the real world. NFTs, in particular, allow artists to profit from their work while “owning their narrative.” In Dean’s opinion, he and Brown can create the next mega-superhero in The Auracle.

Brown and Dean joined forces with a collective of all-black 3D developers and artists for the collection. In addition, they also enlisted the help of BlackNFTART, a group that makes sure new technologies include black art. Dean said this was crucial in order to reach out to the community at large about the project.
The Auracle will also have an IRL utility. For example, some NFT owners will receive a physical object based on the NFT they own. The expected release date for the NFT collection is May 10, 2022.
