This wide-ranging strategic and design partnership between MonkeyLeague and AC Milan involves the creation of exclusive wearables, Rossoneri branded NFT gaming assets, co-marketing events, special gaming tournaments and a number of other exciting initiatives.

MonkeyLeague

MonkeyLeague is a AAA and Web3 quality soccer game built on the Solana blockchain and is a strategy-based soccer game in which users have to build and manage their own dream team of a minimum of six players.

As for the economic value of the game, it is centered around an in-game currency, MonkeyBucks ($MBS), along with other in-game assets that have value in and out of the game.

The announcement revealed that, as part of the agreement, MonkeyLeague will work closely with the Italian champions to launch a new collection of branded AC Milan NFT in-game assets including skins, stadiums and MonkeyPlayers.

The first and most exclusive batch will be auctioned on October 6 at MagicEden, with the NFTs definitely going to the highest bidders.

AC Milan jerseys signed by the entire club will be among the highly coveted AC Milan MonkeyPlayers to be auctioned.

In addition, MonkeyLeague will launch its first MonkeyPlayers replay season in collaboration with AC Milan. In this case, it is assumed that AC Milan branded assets will randomly emerge through the breeding process.

Also as mentioned in the reveal, there may be additional NFTs that could have grounds or stadiums in the game.

Considering the emphasis of the partnership, it marks a remarkable new phase of growth for the entire community, supporting MonkeyLeague, and aligns perfectly with MonkeyLeague’s mission to bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3.

As for AC Milan, this partnership with MonkeyLeague can be seen as part of a wider Web3.0 strategy that sees the Club working with the experts.

They will work collaboratively to facilitate the creation of distinct digital experiences for their fans.

These digital experiences could aim to provide customers with greater access, more ownership and draw them closer to their favorite club.

AC Milan and Web3

This is not AC Milan’s first foray into the world of NFTs; in April it released a limited-edition 3D version of a special Rossoneri jersey from South Sudan.

In May it unveiled the NFT “Born to Lead” collection, a series of unique digital artworks commemorating the club’s finest moments.

And in addition, the club has just established a relationship with Sorare to focus on NFT fantasy soccer.
