Twitter partnered with OpenSea, Rarible, Magic Eden, Dapper Labs and GuardianLink’s Jump.trade marketplaces to enable tweet tiles for NFTs.
Twitter and Web3
Twitter is expanding its web3 strategy with a test product that will allow users to share NFTs and call-to-action (CTA) collection objects on the platform.
The company will use a feature called “tweet tiles,” which it has been testing with major news publishers in a pilot project.
Tweet tiles are Twitter posts with larger images, variable fonts and prominent CTAs, integrated to drive clicks.
“The ability to embed NFTs, complete with relevant information and a direct link to the marketplace, will drive sales and support the discovery of new and trending collections,” the company wrote in a press release Thursday.
Today we’re beginning to test Tweet Tiles with @nytimes, @wsj and @guardian. Tweet Tiles will let developers extend the Tweet experience and will pave future innovation for our @TwitterDev developer community🚀 https://t.co/LDyExFq4b1 pic.twitter.com/mKeU87jNIv

The company launched the pilot product in August, allowing major news and media platforms New York Times, Wall Street Journal and The Guardian to test the feature.
Twitter and NFT Marketplaces
The social media company wants to bring the feature to the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in partnership with OpenSea, Rarible, Magic Eden, Dapper Labs and GuardianLink’s Jump.trade marketplaces.
The sector has also attracted significant backing from venture capitalists, led by the likes of A16z Crypto, SoftBank Vision 2 Fund, Polygon Studios, Binance Labs, OpenSea Ventures and others.
The partnership will enable Twitter to roll out the feature to NFT collectors by allowing them to share collectibles with CTAs on the platform.
Tweets will also contain NFT metadata, including the name of the NFT/collection and the creator. The pilot allows featured partners to display colorful NFTs on Twitter for the first time.
The announcement comes just months after the social networking company introduced NFT profile pictures, allowing collectors to use JPEGs of NFTs as their avatars.
Users verify ownership of their NFTs by connecting their web wallets.
The tweets will enable developers and collectors to extend the NFT experience by creating mobile-centric publications with enhanced visualization.
Meta and NFTs
Meta Platforms launched a similar feature in 100 countries that allowed users to share their NFTs and collectibles on Instagram and Facebook.
The company partnered with NFT wallet providers Coinbase and Flow from Dapper Labs.
The feature has now been enabled on the web and iOS for all five NFT marketplaces featured.
