Following its first NFT done in collaboration with Adidas, Prada has announced its first solo NFT installment, an even more exclusive venture than the brand’s usual products.

What is the Timecapsule NFT Collection all about?

Dubbed the Timecapsule NFT Collection, the project is a monthly online event that gives shoppers access to both a gender-neutral physical product and a giveaway NFT on the first Thursday of every month.

Customers will have 24 hours to get their hands on the offerings, as long as quantities do not sell out as soon as they go on sale.

Each limited edition Timecapsule item has been personalized with a unique serial number and comes in packaging unique to the product it houses.

The NFT that accompanies the item will only be given away with the purchase of the physical product and will not be sold separately.

Releases will typically be limited to 50 items, although Prada plans to double its stock during the first Timecapsule launch, scheduled for June 2 at 9 a.m. ET.

What can we expect from the brand?

The brand’s initial offering will include a one-of-a-kind shirt designed in collaboration with artist Cassius Hirst, son of the immensely successful (and controversial) artist Damien Hirst.

Each shirt, available in black and white, comes decorated with Cassius Hirst’s signature mask and brain scan patterns. The T-shirts, of which there are only 100, are made from technical fabrics from Prada’s high-performance Linea Rossa line.

Hirst’s design symbolizes unity and togetherness, Prada said in a press release, perhaps winking at the few who will be able to participate in the Timecapsule launch.

The Timecapsule launch is open to customers around the world, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, mainland China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong S.A.R., Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States and United States.

Prada has not detailed the NFTs that will accompany its Timecapsule release featuring Hirst, although we do know that each digital collectible will include the serial number of the release and the number of the accompanying physical item.

Owners of NFTs will receive exclusive perks and experiences, according to Prada, as well as access to future releases. All Timecapsule NFTs are issued on the Ethereum blockchain for a secure and user-friendly experience.

For anyone who doesn’t have the means or concern for Prada’s Timecapsule NFT collection, the brand has launched “Prada Crypted,” a new community server on Discord.

Everyone is welcome to join the group to discuss luxury fashion and NFTs.
