Megane X: Panasonic’s contribution to the Metaverse

To enjoy the metaverse in all its splendor it is necessary to have immersive equipment in virtual reality, and up to this moment such implements are very large, heavy and uncomfortable.

That’s why Panasonic decided to make its contribution to the metaverse by developing the Megane X.

The Megane X is a much lighter and more compact virtual reality glasses. They feature two 5.2k HDR 10-bit OLED displays in each lens at a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Compatible with SteamVR mode, from the popular Steam platform, their 6DoF head position detection and Snapdragon XR1 adaptability allow these glasses to be completely independent of a PC.

Although they are not yet on sale, it is indisputable that at 250 grams they are the lightest virtual reality glasses on the market.

Panasonic also developed the Pebble Feel, a personal climate control device that fits in the palm of the hand and will allow users of the metaverse to realistically feel the temperature they are in.

The device will also be able to be used individually to cool down on a hot day or warm up on a cold day.

Another contribution from the Japanese company is Mutalk, a Bluetooth microphone that aims to reduce unwanted noise caused by the environment that filters into the metaverse, so the player can talk without interrupting or being interrupted.

Although its design is quite strange, the device adapts to everyday life with its functionality that allows it to be used as a headset to make phone calls.

It is expected that by the summer of this year, the devices will be officially launched on the market, starting in the United States.
