Beatport teams up with Polkadot to launch Web3 Electronic Music Platform

Beatport.io to bring electronic music to Web3, giving fans access to exclusive collectibles and interactive experiences with artists and labels

London, UK, March 13, 2023 – Beatport, the global leader in electronic music for DJs, producers, and their fans, joins forces with Polkadot, the next-generation blockchain network powering the movement for a better web, to launch Beatport.io, a digital collectibles marketplace that will bring electronic music culture to Web3.

Developed and designed in collaboration with Define Creative, Beatport.io will launch on Aventus, a provider of enterprise Web3 solutions and parachain in the Polkadot ecosystem.

The platform, which marks Beatport’s first permanent home in the Web3 space, will enable labels and artists to create and sell unique digital assets while generating increased fan engagement.

It will allow artists, producers, and labels to enjoy the benefits of Web3 while offering music fans the opportunity to explore the value of digital collectibles and deepen their connection with their favorite artists and DJs.

These digital collectibles will also become in some cases a fan engagement tool for artists and labels by providing early access to additional features such as unreleased tracks, discounted tickets, and access to global events and interactive experiences.

On a technical level, NFTs will be distributed through Aventus, a blockchain built on top of Polkadot that helps established companies deliver Web3 use cases from its broad set of modular and composable products.
