Flyfish is an exclusive restaurant and social club, which will open its doors in 2023, being one of its most remarkable elements that its membership is acquired through an NFT.
As we have seen in other cases, NFT technology is embracing many areas, where memberships and ownership titles have been taken to this level.
The VCR Group, hotel company of Entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk, has announced the token sale of tokens of its latest private members-only dining club in New York City, called Flyfish Club.
Prospective exclusive members will need to purchase their membership on the blockchain, sold as a non-fungible token (NFT).
Flyfish Club (FFC) is the world's first member's only private dining club where membership is purchased on the blockchain as a Non-Fungible-Token (NFT) and owned by the token-holder to gain access to our restaurant and various culinary, cultural and social experiences.

VCR Group responded to the question “Why NFT?” on the Flyfish Club website, stating:
“By using NFTs, FFC is able to create a community of loyal members to whom we can offer special experiences. NFTs create new modernist financial models, which will allow FFC to offer an exceptional and sustainable product for years to come.”
The opening of this gastronomic space will take place during the first half of 2023, only for those who have purchased one of the 1,501 NFT of membership for Flyfish.
There are two types of memberships, Flyfish or Flyfish Omakase, where each one has particular characteristics, including the number of guests accepted per night.
Benefits of a Flyfish membership
There are two types of membership available on the official website. The normal level will give members access to the main dining room, outdoor space and cocktail lounge, as well as special events, for 2.5 Ether (ETH).
The second level, Flyfish Omakase, will give access to all of the above and a 14-seat omakase room, is now available for 4.25 ETH.
It should be noted that Flyfish Membership NFT holders will be able to rent or resell their token to non-token holders.
There are also no recurring annual fees. And although cryptocurrency is required to purchase membership, customers can pay for their food and beverages in U.S. dollars.
According to information from VCR Group, more than 1,000 memberships have already been sold, raising more than $14 million.
For entrepreneurs, it is a business model that will be common in the future and will take the culinary industry to a new level.
Flyfish Club is VCR Group’s second concept, following the opening of the omakase-style Japanese restaurant Ito, which is also located in New York City but is not exclusive to members.
The culinary experience offered at this restaurant will not be something done lightly, as the Chef in charge of supervision is Masashi Ito, who has been awarded with Michelin stars.
The menu is expected to be based on various dishes of international gastronomy, giving great weight to Japanese preparations, where fresh fish from different latitudes will be received daily.
The main space will be able to accommodate 150 diners, who will be able to live luxury culinary experiences within its facilities. On the other hand, the Omakase space will only allow 14 people to enjoy Japanese dishes.
Prior to its opening, Flyfish offers its NFT holders the opportunity to attend various events and experiences, including cooking demonstrations, private celebrations on yachts, theme parties and wine tastings.
Flyfish Club expects to be operational during the first half of 2023. All with the intention of welcoming its community in a place that promises to change the rules of what a traditional restaurant is.
